- Think of movement as an opportunity, not an inconvenience. Combine extra activity with tasks or hobbies that you already do. Try these ideas:
- Get off the bus one stop early and walk.
- Drop the kids off a few blocks before the school and walk with them.
- Use the stairs instead of the lift.
- Move while on the phone.
- Exercise while watching television.
- Combine weekend markets [farmers' markets or arts & crafts ] with a walk on the beach or through the neighbourhood.
- If you usually take regular walks, join a walking or pram walking group to help motivate you and make new friends.
- Park your car further away from the entrance at shopping centres.
- Don’t use a buggy/cart when you play golf.
