Drumley Walk,
Wednesday 17th August 2011

The Drumley Walk is an annual walking pilgrimage to honour Aboriginal Elders of yesteryear, for their resilience and courage to keep living on their traditional lands.

The walk follows in the footsteps of Billy Drumley, who regularly walked from Beaudesert to Southport to visit his younger sister Jenny Graham and her large family, during the 1930s and 1940s.
Get invloved by walking the Borobi Walk or Wongari Walk.

Borobi Walk (easy 2hr, 4km walk)

Come to the official start of The Drumley Walk 2011 and then join in for just a few kilometers, walking down the main street of Beaudesert and then along the dusty Birnam Range Rd. Share a yarn over morning tea on the property of Jack and Elaine Egan, that Drumley himself travelled over, all those years ago. Jack remembers meeting Drumley when he was just a young boy.

Suitable for most fitness levels. Price includes morning tea and a bus return to the start.

Event date: Wednesday 17 August 2011
Commences: 9.00am, return to start by 12.00pm
Cost: $25 adult, $15 conc (alternative pricing for school groups - please contact admin2@yugambeh.com)
