Families
Joint activities are a great way to increase the amount of physical activity of both adults and children. Kids need at least 1 hour of moderate physical activity per day and adults need at least 30 minutes. But remember that more is better.
There are many benefits of being an active family:
- Active children are more likely to become active adults.
- Helping young children to develop good eating patterns and enjoyment from sport and exercise may help them avoid later health problems.
- "Exercise helps children to develop social (sharing, taking turns, cooperating and learning about winning and losing) and physical skills (running, eye-hand coordination and ball skills)."
