Get Active Gold Coast Physical Activity Passport
A 5 day activity passport for Prep / Grade 1 students. Schools are invited to participate in the passport activities during Get Active Gold Coast  Month

Take this simple survey to score your current physical activity level.
 
 
 
 
Pedometers
A pedometer helps you measure how much walking activity you get each day. Borrow a pedometer for free from any GCCC library, and aim for 10,000 steps a day, which can be built up gradually.
 
 
Active Travel Kit
Create your own workplace Active Travel Kit. The template provides guidance on how to travel to and from work using sustainable modes of transport such as walking, cycling, public transport and carpooling.
 
 
 
Gold Coast Parks manage and maintain over 2,000 parks and natural areas, as well as supporting programs to keep local residents active and social.

The Active Travel program aims to help Gold Coast residents enjoy the way they move by encouraging the use of alternative transport modes such as walking, cycling, car pooling and public transport.

Early childhood programs
The Department of Communities is committed to giving babies and young children an active start.
The resource links will give you ideas on how to include activity into a child's day.
    TravelSmart is a voluntary behaviour change program that encourages people to use sustainable travel modes such as public transport, walking, cycling and carpooling rather than single occupancy travel in a car.

    Heart Foundation Walking is Australia's largest network of free community-based walking groups, led by volunteer Walk Organisers. Heart Foundation Walking makes being active easy, even for those not used to being active.
     
     

     
    Active After School Communities
    AASC program is a national initiative that provides primary school children with access to free sport and other structured physical activity programs in the after-school time slot of 3.00pm to 5.30pm
     
     

     
    Inspiring children to participate in sport in the lead up to and during the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Olympic and Paralympic Challenges will be run separately but both will encourage all primary school students to try new sporting activities and earn gold, silver and bronze awards in the lead up to and during the 2012 London Olympic Games.
