P&C Walking Group

Starting a walking group in your local area is a great way to get active and meet new people. It is recommended that adults participate in 30 minutes of physical activity a day. Being involved in a walking group is fun, free and a convenient way to be active. By starting your own walking group, parents, carers and community members can pick days, times and routes that are suitable for individual fitness levels and commitments.  The walks can be advertised at the school with signage visible to passing motorists. Walks can potentially start and finish at the school, keeping the school as the link between the walking group and the community.

Choose Your Own Physical Activity Adventure
The Choose Your Own Physical Activity Adventure (CYOPAA) is designed to encourage physical activity in an adventurous way as well as raising money for your school. Students, teachers and participants select a designated destination and select many different forms of physical activity (surfing, yoga, running, netball, touch football) to convert it into kilometres to reach their selected destination. This is a fantastic fundraiser and opportunity for students to get physically active, work as a team and can be incorporated into all key learning areas.
