Have your own ideas? Create your own active and healthy workplace!
Try using the following 4 stages to help you create  and set up your own workplace physical activity. There are also resource kits available to help bring your ideas to life!
 Step 1 - Plan
  1. Obtain management support
  2. Ask the employees how they would like to get physically active at work
 Step 2 - Design
  1. Design your activity (see if other people in your workplace would like to help!)
  2. Promote your activity
  3. You can also link in and use other activities or events already happening on the Gold Coast (i.e. Gold Coast City Council Active and Healthy Program or Get Active Gold Coast Create your own calendar)

Step 3 - Implement

  1. Encourage employees to participate - be as creative as you want (i.e. incentives or champions)
  2. Make physical activity part of the workplace culture
  3. Have management set a good example through their participation!
 Step 4 - Evaluate
  1. Seek feedback from employees (i.e. verbal feedback or survey)
  2. Identify improvements and change as required
Note: Activity selection - It is important to appeal to the majority, while being careful not to alienate others.

Quick tip!
A reduction in just 3 car trips per week, can save you on average over 30 km and 2 hours of travel time per week!  Look at fuel saving, servicing costs and tyre costs and environmental factors.
Get up, get out... get active!
